Meet The Owner, Jonny Moos

Jonny Moos, the founder of Moos Def LLC, commenced his career in the construction industry at the young age of 18, working for Sam Lipscomb of Widget Remodeling in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

He gained valuable experience as a general laborer to fund his college education at Columbus College of Art & Design, where he earned a B.F.A in Fine Arts. Post-graduation, he exhibited his work at Amuse Gallery in Columbus, Ohio, alongside professors he had studied under.

For a decade, he dedicated himself to his art career at this gallery, while also collaborating with master stone mason, Bill Petersen, broadening his expertise in masonry repairs and crafting high-end stone/paver patios for Creative Masonry.

In parallel to his art endeavors, Jonny ventured into the service industry, working as a server/bartender in upscale restaurants. This blend of experiences, coupled with his background in gallery sales, honed his skills as a sales professional. In his thirties, he transitioned to a Project/Sales role at ACI Construction in Canal Winchester, OH, specializing in storm restoration projects with insurance companies.

Despite a period of fewer storms in central Ohio, Jonny adapted to ACI’s focus on retail residential sales during his tenure. It was during this time that he established a strong rapport with Jarret Fuller, a fellow Project Manager at ACI, who later founded Prime Construction.

Subsequently, Jonny joined Prime Construction, where he excelled as a Sales Associate/Project Manager for seven years. With Jarret’s support, he initiated a painting sales record within Prime, which evolved into the inception of Moos Def LLC, initially operating as Moos Def Painting & Repair. Leveraging his expertise in exteriors, Jonny expanded the company in 2024, acquiring a limited general contractor license from the city of Columbus. Currently Moos Def LLC operates as Moos Def Exteriors & Painting.
